Obituary

Doug Egge was a loving father, grandfather, brother, partner, and friend whose greatest gift was the way he made the people around him feel loved, valued, and special. Doug is survived by his three sons, Chris, Eric, and David, and his bonus son, Garrett. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren—seven grandsons and five granddaughters—who were truly his pride and joy. Being a grandfather brought Doug some of the greatest happiness of his life, and nothing made him prouder than watching his grandchildren grow, sharing memories with them, and simply being their Grandpa. Doug is also survived by the mother of his children, Anna; his partner, Carrie; and his three brothers, John, Art, and Bob. Doug had a love for life and an adventurous spirit. Some of his happiest memories were made at Havasu out on the boat, hiking, traveling, and riding through the desert. He loved being outdoors, exploring new places, and creating memories with the people closest to him. His faith was also an important part of his life, and church held a special place in his heart. But more than anything, Doug was a man who cared deeply about people. He had a way of making everyone around him feel important and cared for. He would do anything for anyone, often putting the needs of others before his own. His generosity, kindness, and willingness to help others were simply part of who he was. And then there were his hugs. Doug’s hugs were something special—warm, genuine, and full of love. When he hugged you, you didn't just feel his arms around you; you could truly feel how much he cared about you. Doug leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind a family who carries his love with them, grandchildren who will grow up knowing how deeply their Grandpa loved them, and countless people whose lives were made better simply because Doug was part of them. His life was defined by family, faith, adventure, generosity, and love. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
